Overview of HESCO Flood Lined Barriers:                                                                    

Based on the renowned HESCO^® Concertainer concept, HESCO flood barriers can be deployed quickly and easily, to construct flood defenses without the need for specialized tradesmen or equipment – making it ideal for emergency response.

Flood Lined units reduce seepage rates significantly and HESCO barriers have significant advantages over traditional sandbags, in terms of cost, time and labor requirement for installation.

The unique design, strength and versatility of the unit means that corners can be constructed easily, shaping the protective flood barrier to its surrounding landscape. The units can be planted with suitable grasses and other vegetation, to form a semi-permanent natural landscape, as well as a protective structure.

HESCO Flood Lined units are available as standard or recoverable units. The dimensions of all Flood Lined units are provided in the table below.

Design Philosophy of HESCO Flood Lined Barriers:                                                       

A geotextile-lined unit for use in flood-protection applications. The design of these units reduces permeability of the wall, when filled. Floodline units are designed for easy removal and are suitable for filling with earth, sand, or well-graded gravel. Floodline units may also be used in other applications.

Hesco Concertainer units are manufactured with Hot Dipped Galvanized welded wire mesh. and Alu-Zinc coated or PVC coated is also available. The mesh has a spacing of 3" x 3" and a wire gauge of 8.5 American SWG, steel/diameter of 0.155"/3.937mm (nominal).

Geotextile

The geotextile is a heavy-duty, non-woven, permeable, polypropylene fabric, available in either green or sand color.

Assembling HESCO FLOODLINE Ranges:                                                                                                

Assembling the Hesco Floodline entails unfolding it and (if available) using a front end loader to fill it with sand, dirt or gravel. The placement of the barrier is generally very similar to the placement of a sandbag barrier or earth berm except that room must generally be allowed for the equipment used to fill the barrier. The main advantage of Hesco Barrier, strongly contributing to their popularity with troops and flood fighters,hesco bastion, is the quick and easy setup. Previously, people had to fill sandbags, a slow undertaking, with one worker filling about 20 sandbags per hour. Workers using Hesco Barrier and a front end loader can do ten times the work of those using sandbags.
